Congratulations to everyone who got promoted!

Five of our athletes fought for two promotions -- Friday night, Tristen Saavedra, Husny Zaher, and Damon Ricouard earned Muay Thai victories while Merrick Nicholas brought his amateur MMA record to 4-0 earning the Bayou Fighting Championship welterweight title. Saturday night, Maverick Becker defended his Empire Fighting Championship amateur middleweight title by way of first round rear naked choke. With these events capping off our 2024 competitions, we want to thank all of our opponents for giving us the opportunity to learn an d grow together.

Friday night 3 of our amateur athletes competed for Bayou Fighting Championship resulting in 2 victories and 1 defeat. Merrick Nicholas was able to put on a beautiful display of striking and grappling to earn a dominant 30-27 Unanimous Decision victory against a tough opponent to bring his record to 3-0. Sean King fought like a professional to defend his amateur title securing a RNC finish in round 3 against a very skilled and experienced athlete bringing his record to 6-0. Will Honer stepped up to fight for the amateur bantam weight title against an undefeated champion and didn’t get the w this time. William showed high level skills and tenacity but the champ did a great job finding his moment bringing Will’s record to 5-1. As always, we appreciate the promotion and our opponents for another opportunity to learn and grow together.

Last night 2 of our athletes were able to earn wins fighting for Bayou Fighting Championship.
Jared Fryoux was able to earn his 3rd professional victory by way of first round knockout, keeping his first round finish rate at 100%. Damon Ricouard kick-boxed a very tough opponent and won a unanimous decision. This fight was an impressive display of technique and heart form two debut athletes that earned fight of the night honors. We are incredibly grateful to the promotion and our opponents for the opportunity to do what we love.

Last weekend 2 of our amateur athletes fought for Empire Fighting Championship and both were able to secure victories. Maverick Becker scored a submission by arm bar just before the bell of round 1, and David Drago earned a unanimous decision against a very tough opponent. As always we are incredibly grateful to the promotion and our opponents for the opportunity to compete.

We went 4-1 at Bayou Fighting Championship last weekend. Two of our amateur athletes competed in Muay Thai bouts, and both were able to come away with decisive wins one of which was able to secure knockout of the night honors. 2 of our amateur mma fighters competed to defend their titles and one earned a first round finish that won him submission of the night. Our professional fighter was able to secure unanimous decision victory after a last-minute opponent change. We are incredibly grateful to the promotion and our opponents for the opportunity to compete.

We went 1-2 last weekend for All In Combat. Two of our athletes lost UDs and Kendon was able to defend his title against the #1 featherweight in LA and MS despite being sick all day with food poisoning. We are grateful to our opponents and the promotion for the opportunity to compete.

Last night one of our athletes, David Drago, secured a 13 second TKO in his amateur debut. Shout out to Empire Fighting Championship for the opportunity to compete and to our opponent for taking the match last minute.

Another busy and successful weekend for the squad. 3 of our athletes were able to score wins against very touch opponents for All In Combat. Kendon Kayser defended his title by submitting his opponent with a RNC in round 3, bringing his record to 5-0. Jason Asher also finished a RNC in round 3 in a comeback victory after being down 2 rounds. Justin Robinson won a unanimous decision in a hard fought match bringing his pro record to 2-0. As always, we are incredibly grateful to the promotion and our opponents for the chance to do what we love.

4 of our athletes, 3 MMA and 1 kickboxing, fought for BFC over the weekend. All were able to secure finishes over their opponents, 2 submissions and 2 by TKO. All respect and gratitude to the promotion and our opponents for the opportunity to compete.

Over the weekend, one of our professional athletes, Bayardo Garcia, was able to secure a unanimous decision victory against a tough opponent. Whether it's boxing, kickboxing, or MMA, Bayardo will be ready for whatever is next!

Three of our athletes were able to secure dominant victories over very tough fighters this weekend at BFC. Our team performed and conducted themselves in a manner that has come to be expected from anyone representing Mid City MMA and Le Bros MMA. We are extremely grateful to our opponents and the promotion for giving us the opportunity to compete and grow together.

This crew put in some work this past weekend at Gladiators' smoker event. Great job, y'all!

One of our professional athletes was able to secure a split decision victory for Social Warrior Club against a tough opponent. This win brings Davin Scott's pro record to 2-0. Thank you to the promotion and to our opponent for the opportunity to showcase our skills.

Two of our athletes were able to secure victories for All In Combat. Kendon Kayser won his second amateur title, bringing his record to 4-0. Justin Robinson won his pro MMA debut after an undefeated amateur career of 7-0. A huge thank you to the promotion and our opponents! 

Junior Maranhoa was able to secure a 3rd round submission against a UFC veteran in bare knuckle MMA for Gamebred FC. This was a big win for Junior and our team, and we are very grateful to Jorge Masvidal for the opportunity to showcase our skills on such a big stage.

Our team had a blast at NAGA! Great work, everyone.

Two of our athletes had their MMA debuts at Empire FC and were both able to secure first round wins by TKO. We are so proud of all of the hard work that Stormy Rogers and Tristen Saavedra put in to earn their victories. As always, a big thank you to the promotion and our opponents!

Some of our guys represented us well at Empire FC's Sub Only event in Biloxi - a win by mounted triangle arm bar, 2 draws, and a loss. Win or lose, we are always so proud of our athletes for testing themselves in competition. Onto the next!

We want to give a huge congratulations to Mid City MMA affiliate Delta Training Center on their opening day! Sheridan Moran is one of the most credentialed competitors and instructors in Louisiana and we are so excited to see him take on this new chapter. Thanh Le submits Ilya Freymanov 62 seconds into the very first round via inside heel hook to win the One Championship Interim Featherweight Title.

Thanh continues to be an inspiration and a leader to our team, and we are very grateful to have him. Stay tuned for his title unification fight against current champion Tanh Kai!

The squad went 5-1 (3 professional and 2 amateur victories) at BFC 60 with 2 nasty knockouts in Round 1, a TKO due to leg kicks in Round 2, and 2 dominant unanimous decisions. We are incredibly grateful to the promotion and our opponents for the opportunity to do what we love and grow in the fire.

Mid City MMA Head Coach Shawn Gayton is honored to award one of his first black belts and dear friend Jake Gibson with his first stripe!

Another successful night for the squad. Will Honer brought his record to 4-0 with a beautiful performance and a second round submission finish. Davin Scott had several last minute opponent changes, went up a weight class, and has been sick all week yet still secured a unanimous decision with an absolutely dominant performance. We appreciate the promotion and our opponents for giving us a chance to express ourselves doing what we love.

We went 1-1 last night at Bayou FC 53 in Lafayette. Sean King put on a dominant performance in his debut scoring an early finish against an opponent who missed weight by 10 pounds. Luc Mazur immediately landed a beautiful right hand putting his opponent down but followed it with an illegal kick that ended the fight in a disqualification. We appreciate the promotion and our opponents for the opportunity to learn and grow together.

Mid City MMA athletes Thanh Le and Vinh Le have been with head coach Shawn Gayton for almost 11 years. Shortly after Thanh's huge win over Garry Tonon, the Le brothers presented Shawn with the One FC featherweight belt to display at Mid City MMA.

Meet Mid City MMA's newest black belts -- Jason Broussard, Alex Kelly, and Brandon Corley! Congrats to them, and to everyone else who got promoted at our first belt ceremony of the year. Big thanks to Josh Artigue for a great seminar following the ceremony.

Two of our athletes competed for Bayou Fighting Championship and were able to secure solid victories. Jared Fryoux defended his title landing big strikes early and eventually locked in a rear naked strangle finish in round 1. Jacob Small found to win a decisive unanimous decision with a technical display of striking, wrestling, and jiu jitsu. As always, we have great appreciation for the promotion and our opponents to perform and learn.

We had a productive evening at Empire FC. Two of our athletes came away with absolutely dominant performances each earning unanimous decision victories, and one of our fighters was on the losing end of the same equation. We welcome both results, as it will only propel us closer to our goals and help us be better versions of ourselves. Thanks to our opponents and the promotion for once again providing us with the experience needed to learn and grow.

Our athletes went 4-0 for Empire FC. All of them not only won, but absolutely dominated the opposition in impressive fashion. Great work, you guys! Always grateful for the opportunity to showcase.

Macy Breaux competed in Houston, TX for Combat Sports Coverage and won the 115lb nogi sub only title! 

Macy Breaux secured a unanimous decision victory against a skilled veteran for Empire Fighting Championship. Appreciation goes to Empire FC, our opponent, and her team for the opportunity to compete and learn.

We ended up going 2-1 at Bayou Fighting Championship against solid competition. All appreciation to the promotion and our opponents for the opportunity to express ourselves and continue to grow in the fire! Was nice to feel hometown love for the first time since lockdown.

Our boys went 4-0 at Empire FC and Scott Gibbons brought yet another title home to Mid City MMA. We are so grateful for the opportunity to do what we love!

We went 3-1 at Empire FC. The squad put on 4 dominant performances but one of our professionals made a slight mistake and paid for it with an armlock. Most people will never understand what goes into this sport and how painfully low the valleys can be. Our coaches and athletes pour our hearts and souls into each other and the pain of defeat is felt across the team. We also realize how lucky we are to do what we do and are forever grateful for the opportunity to express ourselves and grow in the fire.

Mid City MMA athlete Macy Chiasson was able to secure a unanimous decision over a tough veteran of the UFC. As always, we are grateful for the opportunity and are excited to grow from the experience.
